Sunshine the Budgie
Sunshine's mom Ysobelle spent many hours going through the recordings on Betty and Victor's site. She has also spent much time teaching Sunshine to communicate and should be congratulated for the fine job she has done. She emailed me several times saying how excited she was and told me about her Sunshine. As a result Ysobelle recorded her and we were both amazed how she was also talking and using conversational language.
It is becoming clear to me that some budgies will show much understanding and enthusiasm communicating through recordings. I have had several already that have mentioned Victor and myself quite often in their own recordings. Somehow Sunshine anticipated that I would be translating it for her. Sunshine’s Indababaduba recording is nothing less than incredible. In it she shows how she understands many humanistic concepts such as the purpose of money and how it plays a role in our survival. In addition she demonstrates a keen understanding of time, humor and laughter. At the very end she anticipates that the recorder is going to be turned off. This is truly a remarkable example of how a budgie can let us know so much about its intelligence in less than a minute. Truly a masterpiece reminiscent of Victor.
